LT. ADAIR was so informative. He taught us so many things in the area, I never knew about. The trail is long and you truly get your money's worth. He even took pictures for us. I had so much fun. I felt like a kid. I can't wait to bring my friends and family when I return.

Proudly Serving Texas Communities

Texas Rescue Patrol (TRP) is a division of Texas Recreational Safety & Land Management, a Texas State Licensed EMS First Responder Organization and registered 501 (C)(3) Non-Profit Organization. TRP  provides Community Outreach, Safety Education, Disaster Response and Emergency Medical Services in rural communities. TRP is an “all-volunteer” agency acting as a force-multiplier to other organizations. As a public charity, TRP does not charge for any services rendered to the community. TRP currently has a potential response area of over 4,500 square miles, by way of strategic partnerships and mutual aid agreements with multiple local jurisdictions.

SAFETY EDUCATION

Under Texas state law (663.031 of the Texas Transportation Code) the operator of an ATV must attend an ATV safety course and be certified to operate an ATV on public lands. Failure to do so, is a Class C misdemeanor. Texas ranks among the top 10 states for ATV related accidents. In partnership with the ATV Safety Institute and the Texas Department of Public Safety, TRP offers an ATV safety course free of charge to most ATV owners. At the completion of the Course, riders receive their Texas Department of Public Safety ATV Safety Certificate, in compliance with state law.  In addition to rider education, TRP can assist new owners with registering vehicles into the Texas Off-highway Vehicle Program (OHV). A Texas OHV Decal is required to operate an off-highway vehicle on lands that receive funding from Texas Parks and Wildlife.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

TRP works closely with other non-profit organizations and like-minded groups to help promote public health, safety education, support the community and raise awareness of environmental issues. TRP volunteers attend events, organize presentations and actively involve themselves in support of charitable causes.

DISASTER RELIEF

In 2017, TRP volunteers responded to Hurricane Harvey. TRP volunteers helped in Beaumont, TX and surrounding communities. TRP off-road rescue vehicles delivered food, water, toiletries, and medical supplies. TRP Medics set up First Aid stations and helped local authorities treat the sick and injured. TRP volunteers train continuously and are prepared to respond when disasters strike.

LAND MANAGEMENT

Unlawful dumping is a huge problem and we are standing together with private and public entities to educate the public and protect our environment. Our organization distributes free trash bags, places waste disposal receptacles in critical areas, erects signage and actively provides high visibility patrols to provide deterrence against unlawful dumping in critical areas. We work closely with local authorities to report suspected vehicles and individuals, who may be unlawfully dumping.

CERT (Community Emergency Response Team)

In 2018, Texas Rescue Patrol created a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). CERT Team volunteers assist licensed Texas Rescue Patrol personnel in various functions such as, traffic control, scene safety, search & rescue, disaster relief operations, and many other important roles. CERT Team members participate in monthly training meetings and receive certified training from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other local organizations.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

Like many other Public Safety Agencies, Texas Rescue Patrol is licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services as an EMS First Responder Organization. TRP is comprised of volunteers who are state licensed ECA’s, EMT’s, Paramedics and Peace Officers. They respond to emergency calls for service in fully-marked emergency vehicles. TRP responds to a variety of emergency calls for service and augments the capability of other agencies, by providing additional personnel and resources.
